Bye, Bye, Cold Nights

As I walk through our preschool during aquatic life week, our 3-year class is hearing the story of the miracle of the disciples catching an abundance of fish. The 4-year-olds are “fishing” in basins of water using magnetic fish and poles, and 5-year olds are watching videos of ocean life, as they’ve never been exposed to these creatures or their pictures and videos. I see children laughing, learning and engaged. I see the way their teachers love them, and I...

We Got Our Permit

Thank you for your financial gift to this ministry, and thank you for your prayers. We have a building permit! Eight months of waiting, praying, and petitioning were finally rewarded with permission to build our new facility. Baby Manzi has gone home. This little one’s recovering is only by the hand of God. Though he went home this weekend, his mother keeps me updated, and tells me that anyone who sees him, sees a miracle. These are our biggest answers to prayer this...

January Update

Happy New Year! I trust this is the beginning of a year of blessings and God’s goodness in your life. As I write, I am listening to classrooms of children as our preschool students and all of our sponsored students have returned to school today for their second term of studies. We thank God for the privilege we have to invest in these children and help them prepare for bright futures. The Christmas season always provides us extra opportunities to proclaim Christ...

Christmas Greetings

‘Tis the Season! I write hoping this letter finds you in the full joy and awe of the Savior born into our world as we celebrate the season of His coming. This past month, we have made progress in obtaining our building permit for...

He has blessed us to share the gospel with thousands of children each year in vacation Bible school programs across the country. More 300 women have taken part in our vocational training schools in sewing or salon, where they have learned a trade...

Hello. I am ever grateful for your friendship to this ministry. Truly, Love Alive is far more than I ever anticipated, and is used by God to bless, further, and positively impact so many lives because of generous friends of this ministry like you. I appreciate you. In two weeks we will conclude our first year of having our own preschool. Three weeks later we will begin a new school year! As you think of and pray for this ministry, you may...

Medical Insurance for 600

July sent Rwanda back into lockdown for two weeks. Lockdown afforded me some time to work on our Christmas project. We began with a small nativity display last year, and I have plans to broaden that this coming year. I sensed we would be going into lockdown, and stocked up on wood and paint before we were on our stay-home order. It is my desire that this display would be a means of sharing the gospel in the community. Now that...

Rwanda Independence Day and Liberation Day

Here in Rwanda, today, July 1st, is Independence Day, and July 4th is Liberation Day, the day the 1994 genocide ended. Ordinarily, July 4th would be a day of celebration with presidential ceremonies, concerts, and military parades; however, as of today, we have returned to a semi-lockdown status. All schools, churches, restaurants, and non-essential businesses are closed. While in the USA, over 40% have been vaccinated; here we are seeing the highest number of cases in Rwanda to date. While the...
